How to use Excel ISNONTEXT Function – An introduction

Excel ISNONTEXT Function is a logical operator and returns TRUE or FALSE as a result. This function returns TRUE for values like – date, number, time, etc. and returns FALSE for all text values. Excel ISNONTEXT is a member of IS group of functions in Microsoft Excel.

Why we use this?

 

This function test a cell value for text or non-text.

 

The syntax for ISNONTEXT

 

=ISNONTEXT (value)

 

Parameters or Arguments

 

Value (required) – this function checks cell value for text or non-text

What it returns as a result?

 

This function is a logical function and always returns TRUE or FALSE as results.

 

Important note:

This function returns TRUE for blank cell and formulas returns a non-text result.
